Rally Finland (end of Day 3): Latvala and Ogier split by 3.4s!

With 36.6 competitive kilometres to come on Sunday, the gap between Rally Finland leader Jari-Matti Latvala and second-placed Sébastien Ogier is down to just 3.4 seconds. Kris Meeke is third behind the two Volkswagen/Michelin drivers.

Rally Finland (end of Leg 2): a flying Finn

Rally Finland’s overnight leader Jari-Matti Latvala seems determined to be the Flying Finn who puts an end to three years of French domination of his home event. The Volkswagen/Michelin driver is tailed by Kris Meeke (+19.7s, Citroën) and team-mate Sébastien Ogier (+21.3, VW).

Rally Finland (end of Leg 1): a slender advantage for VW

For the fourth time in a row since Argentina, there are two Michelin-equipped Volkswagen Polo R WRCs sitting on top of the leaderboard after Day 1. Jari-Matti Latvala is 4.5s clear of Sébastien Ogier, while third-placed Kris Meeke (Citroën) is less than 10s behind.

Rally Finland (WRC): the Jyväskylä Grand Prix

The second part of the 2014 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) kicks off this week in Jyväskylä with the 64th Neste Oil Rally Finland, frequently described as a grand prix on dirt! The 81-strong entry features all world class rallying’s categories, namely WRC, WRC-2, WRC-3, Junior and Fiesta Trophy).

Trial: Raga keeps some suspense

Adam Raga (Gas Gas) stopped the series of success of Toni Bou (Montesa Michelin), winning the French Grand Prix and keeping some suspense in the series. The title will be decided early in September during the Spanish GP, as arch rivals are now separated by only seven points with two more days of racing to go, with Bou leading the series.

EWC (endurance): next stop, Suzuka!

Following April’s Bol d’Or at Magny-Cours, France, the 2014 FIM Endurance World Championship moves on to Japan for Round 2. The entry list for the non-mandatory 8 Hours of Suzuka features nine EWC-registered teams who will face opposition from the local specialists.

Trial: Bou back as the boss

Winning pretty easily in Great Britain his third and fourth consecutive wins, Toni Bou (Montesa Michelin) is back at this best level and confirmed that he’s the boss of the World Trial.

ELMS/Asian LMS: two French wins

French teams Signatech-Alpine and OAK Racing Team Total/Michelin took the top prizes at the year’s third ELMS round in Austria (Red Bull Ring) and at South Korea’s Inje Speedium, home of Round 1 of the 2014 Asian LMS.

Rally Estonia (ERC): Tänak tastes home success

The auto24 Rally Estonia, round seven of the 2014 FIA European Rally Championship, was won by Ott Tänak (Ford Fiesta R5), ahead of Russia’s Alexey Lukyanuk (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X) and fellow Estonian Timmu Körge (Ford Fiesta R5).

SuperMoto: European GP action in Italy

Round 5 of the FIM SuperMoto World Championship is the European Grand Prix which will take place on Saturday evening (July 19) at Castelletto di Branduzzo, south of Milan.

ELMS/Asian LMS: Austria and Korea

MICHELIN tyres make NASCAR history

For the first time in the history of NASCAR  the spectacular American motor racing formula  a race went ahead on an ‘oval’ circuit in the rain. This groundbreaking ‘first’ took place at Tours Speedway in France, where Mathias Lauda triumphed behind the wheel of a Chevrolet shod with MICHELIN tyres.
