24 Heures Moto: the challenge faced by Michelin at Le Mans

The eagerly-awaited finale to the 2014 FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC) will decide the outcome of the battle for this year’s title. Michelin and GMT 94 promise they will do their best to claim the French firm’s 15th crown with a victory. That would take the tyre maker’s score at Le Mans to 14 wins.

ERC and MERC action in Cyprus

This year’s Cyprus Rally counts towards both the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC, round nine) and the FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC, round five). The leading experts from the Gulf will face competition from the likes of Craig Breen, Kajetan Kajetanowicz, Bruno Magalhaes and Jaroslav Orsak.

24 Heures Moto: looking forward to a thriller!

For the third year running, the 24 Heures Moto at Le Mans will round off the Endurance World Championship (EWC) on September 20-21. In addition to the battle for outright victory, the French clash will settle both the EWC title and the SuperStock World Cup.

WEC (Austin, USA): Le Mans, Texas style

After the extremely long break since June’s Le Mans 24 Hours, the FIA World Endurance Championships resumes this weekend at Austin, Texas, USA, with the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas. A field of 29 is expected for the race which will finish after sunset. Toyota tops the provisional standings, a point clear of Audi.

VW clocks up Michelin’s 45th WRC title*

Volkswagen’s second consecutive Manufacturers’ world title* sees its tyre partner Michelin takes its score to forty-five Manufacturers’ (24) and Drivers’ (21) world crowns, with this year’s Drivers’ contest still to be settled.

Enduro: End of season in Brioude!

Both crowned World Champions since Italy, Pierre Alexandre Renet (Husqvarna Michelin) and Christophe Nambotin (KTM) both scored a double win during the last GP of the season in France. Matthew Phillips (KTM) and Daniel McCanney (Beta Michelin), both leaders of the E3 and junior class before the French round, clinched the last two titles.

SuperMoto: Thomas Chareyre, TM and Michelin are 2014’s champions

Thomas Chareyre (TM-Michelin) clinched his third Supermoto S1 world title last weekend in Jesolo, Italy. The final round’s wins went to Adrien Chareyre (Aprilia Fast Wheels-Michelin) and Mauno Hermunen (SHR-TM-Michelin).

Rally Australia (WRC): a 1-2-3 finish and the 2014 title for Volkswagen

Volkswagen/Michelin secured its second Manufacturers’ world title thanks to its first ever one-two-three finish today in Australia. Polo R WRC drivers Sébastien Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen were followed home by Kris Meeke (Citroën) and Mikko Hirvonen (Ford).

The FIA World Council meeting in Beijing, China, has approved the calendar for the 2015 World Rally Championship. It features the same 13 events as 2014.
