Monza glory for Toyota/Michelin

The 6 Hours of Monza – Round 3 of the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship – was won by the MICHELIN Pilot Sport-equipped N°7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid of Conway/Kobayashi/Lopez. The Italian fixture was the last race before this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours on August 21-22.

The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV takes bite out of the Big Apple

The traction performance delivered by the MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV Formula E tire helped Germany’s Maximilian Günther (BMW I Andretti Motorsport) and Sam Bird (Jaguar Racing) to claim the weekend’s two New York E-Prix at Brooklyn’s riverside circuit.

Michelin Motorsport, Clermont-Ferrand, France – February, 2020: On completion of the design phase, a digital version of the MICHELIN Pilot Sport for endurance racing’s new Hypercar class was produced for the purpose of simulator testing, ahead of the real thing’s manufacture and eventual sign-off a few months later.

MotoGP™: Quartararo wins as Michelin posts more records at Assen

Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) took his fourth win of the 2021 MotoGPTM campaign at Round 9, the Motul TT Assen. The championship leader finished clear of team-mate Maverick Viñales and the outgoing champ Joan Mir (Team SUZUKI ECSTA). The grip and consistency of the MICHELIN Power Slick range contributed to the establishment of new track-lap, fastest race-lap and race-duration records for the Dutch venue.  

ABB FIA Formula E: Audi and Venturi claim Puebla victories

Rounds 8 and 9 of the 2020/2021 FIA Formula E World Championship in Puebla, Mexico, were won respectively by Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler) and Edoardo Mortara (RoKit Venturi Racing) on MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV tires.

MotoGP™: Márquez back on top in Germany!

Multiple world champion Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda Team) resumed his winning ways with victory in the Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland, Round 8 of the 2021 MotoGPTM World Championship. Second and third were Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) who made it three different bikemakers on the Sachsenring podium to provide further evidence of the MICHELIN Power Slick range’s versatility. 

Michelin ready for DTM debut

More familiarly known simply as the DTM, the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters resumes this weekend (June 18-20) at Monza, Italy, with a new-look formula featuring FIA GT3 cars competing on MICHELIN Pilot Sport GT M tires. This highly popular series has effectively chosen the French brand for the first time as sole supplier for such prestige carmakers as Audi, Mercedes, McLaren, BMW, Lamborghini and Ferrari.

Michelin’s FIA ERC involvement continues in 2021…

The 2021 FIA European Rally Championship (FIA ERC) kicks off this weekend with Orlen Rajd Polski-Rally Poland (June 18-20) which is based in Mikolajki, northeast Poland. Michelin’s colors will be defended by a number of leading teams and drivers who will compete on the firm’s Customer gravel tires, the development of which benefited from Michelin’s 350 wins in the sport at world level.

Toyota/Michelin scores a 1-2 finish in Portimao

Following on from its victory at the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship’s opener at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, Toyota Gazoo Racing succeeded in monopolizing the top two places at the end of the 8 Hours of Portimao with its brace of MICHELIN Pilot Sport-equipped GR010 Hybrids. The Japanese Hypercars were joined on the Portuguese podium by the sole Alpine A480/Michelin. Ferrari/Michelin topped the order in both LM GTE classes.

More Nürburgring glory for Porsche and Michelin!

The 49th running of the Nürburgring 24 Hours – which was shortened to just 10 hours due to fog – was won by the Michelin-equipped Porsche 911 GT3 R of Manthey Racing’s Estre/Cairoli/Kern/Christensen who earned the tire firm’s 21st victory in the notoriously punishing German classic since 1992.

MotoGP™: Oliveira and Michelin rewarded for polished Barcelona performance

The Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya (Round 7 of the 2021 MotoGPTM World Championship) was won by Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Miguel Oliveira. Aided by the grip and longevity of his MICHELIN Power Slicks, the Portuguese rider produced a confident and consistent run to beat Johann Zarco (2nd, Pramac Racing) and Jack Miller (3rd, Ducati Lenovo Team). Fourth-placed Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) still tops the provisional standings.

The MICHELIN Pilot Sport ready for the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife challenge

Michelin is looking to extend its score of 20 Nürburgring 24 Hours victories at this year’s running of the German classic around the circuit’s awesome Nordschleife on June 3-6. The entry features 125 cars and the leading GT3 runners (Porsche 911, Audi R8 LMS, Mercedes AMG, BMW M6, Ferrari 488, Lamborghini Huracan) will benefit from the long-lasting performance characteristics of Michelin’s endurance racing tire range.

MotoGP™: Quartararo and Michelin in shining form at Mugello

The Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley, round six of the 2021 MotoGPTM World Championship, was won by Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), ahead of Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Joan Mir (ECSTAR Suzuki Team). The grip and consistency delivered by the MICHELIN Power Slick range helped Michelin contribute to the establishment of several new records for Mugello’s exacting track where four different bikemakers filled the top four places.
