“Technologies developed in motorsport go on to be used for MICHELIN’s road tyres”

In addition to the work carried out at its Technology Centre in Ladoux, near Clermont-Ferrand, France, motorsport serves as a valuable additional laboratory for MICHELIN to test, innovate and develop new solutions in extreme conditions for the vehicles people will drive in the future.

In car and motorbike racing, drivers and riders need to have total confidence in their tyres which are the only point of contact between them and the race track while they are being pushed to their limits.

MICHELIN has always strived to push out the envelope in all the areas that contribute to their overall performance in order to meet the needs of its partners with a view to winning in total safety, and enjoyably.

It is for this reason that Michelin is committed to constantly and uncompromisingly improving all the factors that contribute to the global performance of its tyres (safety, driving/riding enjoyment and ability) at the same time, and not just one parameter at a time.

Michelin has been successful in rising to this challenge thanks to its use of innovative new technologies which are put through their paces in motorsport before being carried over to road tyres in order to benefit everyday motorists and bikers.
