MotoGP: Qatar to kick off 2017 world championship

After a memorable 2016 campaign, which saw nine different riders win races as Michelin returned to the series following a seven-year absence, the first fixture of the 2017 MotoGPTM World Championship (March 23-26) will take teams to Losail, near Doha, in the middle of the Qatari desert.

Rally Mexico produces the 2017 WRC’s third winner!

Following in the slipstream of Sébastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala, who took the spoils in Monte Carlo and Sweden respectively, Kris Meeke clinched the top prize in Mexico on Sunday at the wheel of his Citroën C3 WRC/Michelin. Ogier (Ford/Michelin) and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai/Michelin) joined the Briton on the podium.

Buenos Aires ePrix: Buemi’s hat-trick

Saturday’s Buenos Aires ePrix saw Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.dams) follow up his recent successes in Hong Kong and Marrakech with his third win on the trot, ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne (Techeetah) and Lucas di Grassi (Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport).

Sweden glory for Toyota/Michelin

Toyota followed up its Rallye Monte Carlo podium finish in January with outright victory in Sweden today to celebrate its return to the FIA World Rally Championship. Jari-Matti Latvala topped the final order ahead of Ford M-Sport/Michelin’s Ott Tanak and Sébastien Ogier, while Skoda/Michelin ended up on top again in WRC2.

Porsche vs Toyota in 2017

In addition to releasing the entry list for the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the ACO (Automobile Club de l’Ouest) has named the teams it has invited to take part in June’s Le Mans 24 Hours. Michelin is targeting its 20th straight win in the celebrated French race (June 17-18).

A fourth Monte Carlo victory for Ogier on Michelin rubber!

Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia (Ford Fiesta RS WRC/Michelin) claimed Rallye Monte-Carlo glory for the fourth year running to notch up their 37th world class victory on Michelin tyres. Their success makes them the world championship’s most successful crew on the French firm’s rubber.

2017 Dakar Rally: Michelin’s 34th Dakar victory on two wheels

The first Dakar victory of British biker Sam Sunderland (KTM Factory Team-Michelin) notched up Michelin’s 34th success on the famous cross-country rally.

WRC: 13 rounds for 2017

The FIA World Council has confirmed the calendar for the 13-round 2017 World Rally Championship. The registered tyre manufacturers for the series are Michelin and DMack.

Rally Australia (WRC): Mikkelsen scores Volkswagen’s last win

Andreas Mikkelsen and Anders Jaeger won the final round of the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship to end Volkswagen Motorsport’s spell in the series on a high note. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai/Michelin) made sure of the season’s runner-up honours in Australia, while Esapekka Lappi is the WRC2 champion in association with Skoda and Michelin.

6 Hours of Bahrain (WEC): Audi/Michelin bows out with 1-2 finish

Audi produced a one-two finish in Bahrain to mark its final prototype endurance racing appearance. The race was won by the N°8 R18 (Duval/Di Grassi/Jarvis) ahead of the N°7 sister car (Tréluyer/Lotterer/Fässler). Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb are the 2016 FIA WEC Drivers’ champions, while Ferrari/Michelin won the GT Manufacturers World Cup.
