MotoGP: off to Austin!

After visiting Qatar and Argentina, the MotoGPTM World Championship travels to the Circuit of the Americas, near Austin, Texas, USA, for round three of the 2017 season: the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas.

Toyota/Michelin wins Silverstone WEC opener

Toyota Gazoo Racing and Michelin won Great Britain’s 6 Hours of Silverstone for the second time after their maiden victory there together in 2014. First past the flag was the N°8 TS050 Hybrid of Buemi/Davidson/Nakajima, which finished clear of the N°2 (Bernhard/Bamber/Hartley) and N°1 (Jani/Lotterer/Tandy) Porsches. Michelin won all three of the classes in which it was represented.

MotoGP: a second straight win for Viñales

The winner of the second round of the 2017 MotoGPTM World Championship at Termas de Rio Hondo, Argentina, was Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) who also won the season’s recent opener in Qatar. Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) and Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) were second and third in South America.

Neuville claims Corsica win for Hyundai/Michelin

Thierry Neuville earned a handsome victory for Hyundai Motorsport in Corsica to become the fourth different winner of a WRC round from four starts this year. Michelin’s score on the Mediterranean island now stands at 25 outright victories with 11 different makes since the championship’s creation in 1973.

MotoGP: next stop Argentina

After the season’s opener in Qatar, the MotoGPTM teams and riders are in Argentina this weekend for Round 2 of the 2017 world championship at Termas de Río Hondo.

Mexico City ePrix: di Grassi claims surprise win

Lucas di Grassi (Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport) took an unexpected win at Mexico City’s Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez after a chaotic race. The Brazilian was joined on the podium by Jean-Eric Vergne (Techeetah) and Sam Bird (DS Virgin).

A winning start for Viñales at Yamaha

Spain’s Maverick Viñales celebrated his debut appearance for Movistar Yamaha MotoGP by claiming the first MotoGPTM pole start of his career. He followed that up by winning the Grand Prix of Qatar in torrential rain, ahead of Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) and Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP).

MotoGP: Qatar to kick off 2017 world championship

After a memorable 2016 campaign, which saw nine different riders win races as Michelin returned to the series following a seven-year absence, the first fixture of the 2017 MotoGPTM World Championship (March 23-26) will take teams to Losail, near Doha, in the middle of the Qatari desert.

Rally Mexico produces the 2017 WRC’s third winner!

Following in the slipstream of Sébastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala, who took the spoils in Monte Carlo and Sweden respectively, Kris Meeke clinched the top prize in Mexico on Sunday at the wheel of his Citroën C3 WRC/Michelin. Ogier (Ford/Michelin) and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai/Michelin) joined the Briton on the podium.

Buenos Aires ePrix: Buemi’s hat-trick

Saturday’s Buenos Aires ePrix saw Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.dams) follow up his recent successes in Hong Kong and Marrakech with his third win on the trot, ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne (Techeetah) and Lucas di Grassi (Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport).

Sweden glory for Toyota/Michelin

Toyota followed up its Rallye Monte Carlo podium finish in January with outright victory in Sweden today to celebrate its return to the FIA World Rally Championship. Jari-Matti Latvala topped the final order ahead of Ford M-Sport/Michelin’s Ott Tanak and Sébastien Ogier, while Skoda/Michelin ended up on top again in WRC2.

Porsche vs Toyota in 2017

In addition to releasing the entry list for the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the ACO (Automobile Club de l’Ouest) has named the teams it has invited to take part in June’s Le Mans 24 Hours. Michelin is targeting its 20th straight win in the celebrated French race (June 17-18).
